WEEK 13 BFR (88 mins) + WEEK 14 BFR goals (97 mins total)

WEEK 13 goals (88 mins total)

- 22 mins Sunday (@ Asphalt sidewalk))

==> Had an abrasion on my left instep. Nothing serious. I used liquid skin & was able to run the rest of the scheduled runs w/ no problem. FYI, I am trying to mix in some different terrains on some BFR to act as a check on my form. Running on asphalt is definitely a clear check on my form. The asphalt sidewalk undulates & also had some sticky pine cone droppings on the sidewalk so it was definintely a gut check & a challenge.

- 22 mins Tues (@ YMCA indoor track)

==> Nothing major to report here. I seem to be mastering the form of BFR on the indoor track. I'm taking it slow & steady. I'm not checking my cadence, but focusing more on posture, lifting my feet, & keeping my hips level when running.

- 44 mins Friday @ cross-country course

==> longest run to date. no idea about distance so I am guestimating 10 mins/mile as a rough benchmark. Ran w/ 2 others in my BFR group & they are faster than I am so I pushed myself for the first 2/3 (running w/ them) & then had to corrall my 3 boys (by doubling back) to finish off the run. I do this by running back and forth between them until we reach the start point. This week the 3 boys did not run together so this took longer than usual. But still a beautiful day for a run.

WEEK 14 goals (97 mins total) Trying to stick w/ the 10% rule. Thinking about adding a 4th run during the week after I get the 2 shorter runs @ 40 mins each. This will be over the next few weeks. Also going to try to run some trails to change the terrain & get my feet used to different surfaces.

Bad news is that the weather where I live will start to turn soon so I will be limited to the indoor track during the winter. So trying to enjoy the great outdoors while I can!

- 25 mins Sunday (@ sidewalk))

- 25 mins Tues (@ YMCA indoor track)

- 47 mins Friday @ cross-country course [It will be interesting to see how the boys hold up to the increase in time. I may have to come up w/ something creative to keep them occupied by changing their normal route.]

Good luck to all! s/s.
