WEEK 10 BFR update (check - 64 mins total) + WEEK 11 BFR goals (70 mins total)

I achieved my WEEK 10 goals..give or take a minute or two in a few runs (64 mins BFR total)

- 16 mins Sunday (@ YMCA indoor track)

- 16 mins Tues (@ YMCA indoor track)

- 32 mins Friday @ cross country course (over 5K = a first for me!).

The group run on Friday was definitely a high point. Much easier to talk w/ like minded runners about form & challenges of BFR. The time went very quickly. I also have been bringing my 3 sons the past 4-5 weeks & they are steadily increasing their time/distance & are up to a 1 min walk & 4 min jog totally barefoot. I am also taking them w/ me on the two other run days (increasing their time/distance over time) as a group activity for all 4 of us. They are reluctant to go & it is hard to get them out the door, but they are very enthusiastic once we start and always say "it was great...glad we did this" when we are done. (Does this sound familiar to any of you runners out there based on your own experience?)

GOALS FOR WEEK 11 (70 mins BFR total). I am still trying to strictly stick w/ the 10% increase a week to minimize my chances of injury. No major problems thus far. Quite frankly, my body feels like it can go further & I have crossed a threshold of some point, but I am still tentative and remember the "early days" of running 5 mins, 5 mins, 10 mins 3x a week....I don't want to go back to ground zero so I am taking it slow. I am also excited to get the boys out on some trails in the area once they have built up their endurance some more.

I achieved my WEEK 10 goals..give or take a minute or two in a few runs (71 mins BFR total)

-18 mins Sunday (@ YMCA indoor track)

- 18 mins Tues (@ YMCA indoor track)

- 35 mins Friday @ cross country course (up up & away past the 5k mark for me but I'm taking it VERY SLOW & waiting before even thinking about speed).

FYI, I am up to a total of 37 miles or over 50K BFR (using a very conservative estimate of my speed). I have been keeping track of my BFR in a running log that also allows me to track my cross training as well.

Wish me luck & best of luck to all you other newbies (like me)! s/s.
