what being a caveman and going barefoot have in common? i mean it aint cool to call ppl who go barefoot as similar as cavemans,

    new zealand are cavemans?

why would go barefoot isolate you?

yep behave as u should behave to be accepted by society and its traditions right? as copy cat, isnt the same as to a woman wear a burka to be adapted in an arab country? (in a extreme version)
i respect it, most people are like this, products of tradition
but tradition changes constinously, and people tend to do things that were previously rejected by "modern society"

if you'd be borned in new zealand you would very probably walk barefoot and you wouldnt consider it as caveman and dont live in a modern society (new zealand is modern society)

the point is to have healthy strong and beautiful feet, and avoid having weak feet & deformed which is caused by shoes isnt it? also its very comfortable and may have even others benefits (as electricity discharge or something like that, there are even machines that companies sell reproducing that (http://www.earthing.com/Shop_s/1824.htm))

i go barefoot in streets and i easily share my life and experiences with some ppl, the ones who are similar to me and im interested in

also you why dont you feel like a caveman and dont forget to live in a modern society when u run barefoot?

It would isolate you for the same reasons you said you'd wear headphones when barefoot, so you couldn't here what people are saying about you. Then you started this thread, I pick up on stuff like that so i'd share some thoughts.

As far as the cave man thing goes, i don't think it needs an explanation.
Being barefoot doesn't feed the family, we live in modern societies with rules, laws and expectations.

Anyway looks like you've got everything under control, i misread your position, sorry for that.

I love going barefoot! I've gradually pushed my own envelope to go barefoot in more and more places. I still wear shoes in a shop I volunteer at that requires them, but I put them on when I get there and take them off as I leave. I've gone barefoot in the bank, grocery stores, Church, all sorts of places and, for the most part, people who notice are more curious than judgemental. One time I was launching my boat in the winter and a guy said "where are your shoes!" I replied "They're dry!" He liked that. At Church and people's houses I usually wear socks and nobody seems to notice, except maybe when I'm taking them off as I go out the door! I love being barefoot in the garden, then hosing off my feet before going in the house. Try that with shoes!

    All the best,
    Scott

yep skedaddle, because what u cant expect from many people when u do something that is against tradition

the same if'd be a woman i would not drive a car in arab country i would go to jail

so some people bullies for being barefoot, the few that dare to it, and its more to avoid fight because i force myself to recover honor if someone directly insults me in streets

yes thats what i said, rules laws and expectations
being with the masses, behave as everyone else, be a copy cat, a sheep etc in most of things

rules and laws are very developed according to logic i'd say, with some flaws some times but tend to be good in most societies
expectations i think is more a masses thing, a tradition, socially accepted things

whoever being judged aint so bad, people like to, make them feel like superior and best, its more a human thing, many people tend to judge
i think they prefer to see someone doing something unusual in streets etc than normal boring things

so expect to be judged highly if a person does something impressive or socially unacceptable

also its not like everyones will like you, no matter what you do a percentage (relatively big) of people will not like you
try to please anyone is a sh1t
be yourself i mean dont fake anything (like that user who liked to smile everyone to being accepted, thats so fake that many people will not like you more and also loss respect) because some will hate you anyway

ramon campayo the legendary say in one book of him that aproximately 1/3 of people will not like you

yes true, there are jobs that tolerate going barefoot but much less than with shoes

i like posting this but i think as other times many people will ignore it haha

you are so brave, thats awesome!

I just had an interesting experience in Home Depot. I was barefoot and my wife and I were shopping. No problem, until we had a big lumber cart with some metal roofing on it and were about to check out when my wife decided to go look for some solar lights. Rather than try to push that awkward cart around the store I just waited with it. A lady came up to see if I needed help and I told her I was waiting while my wife was grabbing one more thing. Then she saw my bare feet and started to wonder out loud if that was O.K.. I assured her it was, but then watched as she went from one person to another trying to get someone to say it wasn't. I walked off to find my wife. A little later, when we were checking out, the checkout lady asked "Did they catch up with you?" and then told me I needed to wear shoes in the store. Next time I'll look around the entrance to find the sign, if there is one. They did let us buy our cartload of stuff with no problem. My wife says I'm over the top... She's probably right, but it sure is fun to go barefoot, so I do, and that is the most trouble I've gotten into yet. If I see a sign saying shoes required I'll wear shoes. The rest of the time I'm finding it is good practice unlearning the bad walking and running form of 46 years before I took them off.

    All the best,
    Scott

Scottie, you might have told the very helpful woman in the Home Depot that you were fine, but that you just saw a lady go by with a toddler standing up in the front of her cart!!!! She no doubt would have hared off looking for the terrible, negligent person and left you in peace.
