That might be the most important lesson of barefoot! It took me a couple years barefoot to get to marathon, and I had been running a few years shod prior to that. And I've only done marathon distance 1 time and I wasnt that well prepared! Not sure if i'm any better of this year either.

Because I am a lazy butt, that's why and besides the weather is turning cold and I DON'T run outside on cold weather-so there! Why not?
Thursday morning - 5 barefoot miles, nice and easy
Thursday evening - 5 shod trail miles with a big hill
Friday - 4 barefoot miles, mid 30's F. Cold for the first mile, then the feet were fine.
Rick

thanks for the feedback. what about your feet at the end of the race ?
it's 18 months for me now, it looks like I'm gonna need much more than 2 years for the marathon.
already ran 3 half-marathon, but to run twice the distance would be masochism
5 miles yesterday, good vibes

5k parkrun :-D
A nice and slow 14km/8.7mi, weather is wonderful here and I can't get enough of that:
