Foam Roller

Anybody able to personally recommend a muscle roller?

I've tried using all cylindrical objects around the home, but most are to small in diameter. Also, my wife doesn't approve of me rubbing my sweaty, post-run body all over her stuff =P

So I'm in the market to purchase something for dedicated leg rolling. I'm not sure if I want a solid foam one, as I think it might be too squishy. Something with a solid core perhaps? Has anybody used a roller that they can recommend?

DIY 4" or 5" PVC with foam sill plate gasket wrapped around it with duct tape covering it. For about $15 in materials I made one with 4" PVC and went around with 2 layers of the foam. Works great.

I use a high-density foam roller like this one. But a homemade one like Patrick mentioned is fine too.

no boys. home depot 2x4 pipe. TSWG has recommended it to many and i'm passing it on. foam is for little girls. if you want to work deep get a big pipe. just go look at the pub forum about "laying pipe". just don't read at work.

I've been using a Thera Roller for around 6 months now and that is pretty good, Ive got the purple one which is rated as firm and it is pretty solid. They grey one is harder again. They have ridges in to dig into the muscles. More expensive than home made but I tried home made ones and they are just not as good.
