Today I found out that running in falling snow has its risks.

#1 is that snow that's melting as it falls is colder than snow sitting on the ground. Also, it doesn't have any grit covering benefits.

#2 is that when one runs into heavy snowfall one is both banged in the eyeballs by the flakes and gagged when they go down the throat just wrong.

Aside from that stuff, it was a lovely run!

hahaha....sounds like a lovely run...:confused:

let it snow!

Did you run in the snow barefoot, or minimal?
I've walked to/from in my yard on the snow, but never yet gone for a run in the snow bf.

I went out BF, but found that wet pavement, complete with snowmelter and grit was much more than I was going to run on happily. I put on my VFF's after less than a quarter mile.

I have run a few BF miles at gentle temps in fresh snow. The key is that it be fresh and dry. I'm too much of a wimp to try to run in slush or on refrozen slush.
