Getting used to the cold and the rain?

It’s really autumn here, the weather is exactly like you’d expect it to be in Belgium by the first week of november: lots of rain, and even a bit colder than average (today 9°C, feeling like 7°C because of the wind). (OK, for those Canadians that may sound hot as hell...)

It started raining in the morning, and it was about 3 PM before there was something like a bit of blue in the sky.
And in the weekends, that’s exactly the right moment for a run!
To keep my feet warm during my warm-up, I tried the shoes I bought a few weeks ago. (They are OK for a short walk, not for running.) After the warm-up I ditched my shoes, and the run was great! My feet comfortably warm, so in the second half of the run I deliberately ran through puddles (which only a few weeks ago I though would be crazy bu temperatures under 18°C/65°F.)
About a month ago, running on wet pavement was terrible (11°C), and today, while colder and windier, it felt great….

I’m definitely getting used to it!

Anne, I ran with Injinji toe socks last year in the snow (with huaraches). I ditched them the next day because they became wet and went to run in the snow with the huaraches only.
I can tell you that my feet went hot in no time and that I felt much colder with my 'normal' Adidas Coolmax trainers.

I love it. What's horrible about running in wet weather is that your socks and shoes get soaked, barefoot or in huaraches this just doesn't happen.
