Back in Town...

A few months ago, I was running rather consistently, and was slowly transitioning to barefoot-running by adding some hundreds of yards of barefootrunning to each training...
And then the gardening season started, and I needed all my free time for my garden and my tomato-greenhouse... And after a day of work, and and evening of gardening, I didn't feel like running anymore, and it all slipped once more...

But a garden needs most time in spring, and summer came... But we had planned that vacation in the USA, so in July I didn't do any running either...

But now I'm home again, and my garden can grow on it's own acount (I'm in Belgium, remember, so my garden gets its water from (to much) rain, not from irrigation ;).)
So I'm running again... But I started 'only barefoot', and very slowly ('ran' about 200 yards on Monday evening, and abouot 300 on Tuesday morning.) My calves are a bit sore, so I wait until tomorrow before adding another couple of hundred yards to that distance.

Reason for deciding to started completely unshod? During the weeks in the US, I felt again that strange ache in my right feet that I developed about a year ago, and that I only felt than with one particular pair of shoes. But now I started feeling it more and more, and with different shoes, also with my Teva-sandals that always felt 'perfect'. Back home, I noticed that this ache seemed to disappear more or less when I walked around indoors on bare foot.
When I started running on monday, I felt the pain, but it disappeared in about 50 yards, and - although I was wearing shoes yesterday while in my office - it didn't come back...

I would like to take part in a 6K race in October... wondering if I'll be able to run that far by then...
