So, I only ran twice last week due to stubbing my toe and arch pain. I ran on Tues and did the Run through Redlands 5k on Sun. that is what I'm excited about. I finally found race results on the webiste and I've beat my PR! Yes, tackling those hills has been helping.
My only other 5k run was the AFC in San Diego last year. That was my first 5k and my time was 37:40. I ranit barefoot. I also did the SD mud run with my daughter, but there was actually very little running involved. hehehe My time for Sunday's run was 33:28. Woot! I amimproving. Yayyy me!I ran this one in my VFF's.And I even stopped to help a teenaged girl who did a superman in the middle of the road and was all skinned up. Not one other adult stopped to help her, poor thing. I was afraid they were going to start using her as a hurdle.lolOriginally my goal was 35 min and then after my foot started acting up and I sprained my big toe that changed to just finishing.
Anyway, not starting week 9 due to my arch being pretty uncomfortable with some swelling and slight bruising. Will give it a while and then probably start back at something like 1 mile to see what it is going to do. Nice thing about that is I will be able to just start back bare instead of switching off and on with my Vff's. I really hate carrying them for the last half of my run. My goal for next year's Run through Redlands is to be able to sign up for the 10k. Now to figure out the best training program for a 10k. Any ideas?
