Go to the home page at anytime to access the BRS's member map or click on this link http://www.barefootrunners.org/map/users .

That's right! Thanks to our new in-house web guru, Matt (mmoore5553), we can now show the world that we are not a lone soul. This is a HUGE resource for us and for barefoot running and has been long in the making. This is an important resource since you all know there is power in numbers. Remember the reason why you wanted to connect with like-minded people in the first place, remember what brought you here. This map says it all.

If you are not on the map, add yourself to the map by visiting your profile, clicking on Edit, then clicking on User Profile. Your street address will not show up on the map, only your city and state. Check out any of the markers on the map to see what fields will show up when you add yourself to the map if you have any concerns; otherwise, know that your personal data is secure. The only people that can access the map are authenticated (logged in) users, and they can't see the details of your street address, only your city and state.

Awesome. :0 Been a long time since the map's worked; thanks Matt. 8) Though, one small bug? I went to switch from "N/A" to "Yes" in profile however for "Display location on Member Map?" but it's not saving the setting, keeps resorting to "0".

Are you using IE, Spooner? IE, recently, doesn't show all the map markers, but Firefox does.

o is correct for some reason,

o is correct for some reason, previous coder did that symbol,. the original code will show letter o in profile. If you are using IE there is a delay issue. This is because of how IE renders. Please check with firefox. There is a manually setting you can do on IE to render things and it should work.



Please let me know if you use firefox and look in the map and not find yourself. Just PM me any issues or put them in the site help. Just start a thread.

What do you all mean "saying

What do you all mean "saying 0" exactly? For those who have entered their address info in their profile, you are showing on the map (check) (not sure about you Spooner, but I will look next), but your radio button for N/A, Yes, or No is showing blank. Is that what you all mean by showing a "0"? Anyone got a screen shot?

Angie, in order to force IE to load the map and markers quicker, I enabled Trusted Sites under IE's Tools > Internet Options > Security > Trusted Sites > Sites for these sites Matt recommended:

*.google.com

local.google.com

maps.google.com

www.google.com

Nick, recall what I said previously about the Firefox versus IE thing. It definitely applies to the Barefoot Running Instructors Map and the Barefoot-Friendly Doctors & Specialists Map.

Spooner, I don't see you showing up in Taiwan. Please add yourself back in English, and I'll look again.

Okay made some major changes

Okay made some major changes today and now it should show on map - you have to do the selection to yes to show and no to do not show. This was not working before but it corrected now. If you have nothing selected it will not show.



Also once you save settings it will now say

Now it actually works as it should with the selection box. There is a five minute delay because of cache. I can not reset that. I am putting a note to let you know that it will have a slight delay.

Also for people having issue make sure if you go back to user settings look at the location box and see if there is a marker on the map or go to users map and check to see if you are there first. Remember there is a 5 minute delay at times.
