Thank you. The lazy me
Thank you.
The lazy me wanted to wait for the snow to melt before running again but it looks like this year in NJ there will be snow on the ground until Spring. Reading this group motivated me to go running in the snow, even last Sunday when my husband thought the wind would be too cold. I took off for a short run, starting with a 3 mile loop and I extended it to 10 miles!
I ran through slush, ice, crusty snow. It was beautiful to be outside and not cold. I enjoyed every minute of it (ok, maybe not the first 10 min, it always takes me a while to get the ryhtme). The sky was blue, the wind was strong and was blowing incredible patterns on the snow. It was an amazing run and I'm grateful to this group for giving me the motivation to go out.
I felt I had the energy and motivation to go for 13.1m but at mile 9, as I was approaching our house I started feeling a slight pain on the top of my foot and decided to not push my mileage so I would be able to run again soon during the week.
Scuba boots with wool socks are the good combination for me to run in the snow, the wool stays warm even when wet. I'm too afraid of salt to go barefoot even for the last mile of my run....i'll save that for dry days, if we see any.
