Greeting from Middle Georgia.

Starting to pull my shoes off for the last mile of my (admittedly sporadic) after work runs. Having worn out a pair of first generation VFFs and currently putting a hurting on a pair of Merrell Tough Gloves, I'm not new to the minimal scene.

That said, running barefoot is awesome! And worlds away from even the most minimal shoes. Glad I've started and hope to have homemade leather between me and the pavement in the next few months.

There are some awesome runs down in your parts. If we can get enough of us together we all ought to run sometime. I know a couple extremely forgiving trails....

TMo, I saw your thread about Dauset Trails near Jackson. Have you run it yet?

And what are these forgiving trails you speak of in the wonderland that is Middle Georgia?

There is nothing quite like running skin 2 ground! Glad you are discovering that aspect.

Well the forgiving trails I was referring to are up here. Sweetwater is awesome. Six miles of mixed terrain, but I can BF all of with just a quarter mile over anything I would consider tough. Plus lots of mud holes to splash through.

Welcome, Matt. I used to live in McDonough (in NC now). Dauset Trails has some great trails, but the farther you go into some of them, the more game-like and less man-maintained they get, so they're not nice, clean, highly visible smooth dirt.

Welcome Matt! Dauset Trails is on my list of trails to try out...I'd be in for a run there. I'm northeast of Atlanta in Gwinnett county and have extensive trail experience around these parts but only a bit here and there outside of my area.
