Sept. 15th 2009 was when I took my first barefoot run around my neighborhood, it was a 1/2 mile. It was out of pure curiosity and I knew instantly that this was going to be the way I wanted to run. 7 years later I'm still at it. After that run I had two pairs of running sneakers, one was a 2 week old pair of Asic Kayano's worth $250, I put them in a bag and dropped them off a Goodwill bin on my way to work, someone got a nice treat. I wanted nothing to fall back on.
My only resources at the time was a small group of liked minded individuals all on the quest to run barefoot at the barefoot running forum over at runnersworld.com and youtube.
