The Born to Run event/“cabaret” – NYC 11-05-2010

Last night I was fortunate enough to attend the Born to Run event with Chris McDougall and the gang from the book born to run at the New York Ethical Culture Society in New York City.

Now that I live near Philadelphia, I'm much closer to lots of cultural and other events happening in NYC, so I thought it would be worth the drive to hear what some of the key players and the author of one of my favorite books had to say.

I planned the trip so that I'd have plenty of time to park and find the place, but I forgot that getting in and out of NY with a car is always a nightmare and I spend almost an hour in the entrance to the Lincoln tunnel and made it just in time.

The event was heavily marketed in the blogosphere, and the way it was described gave me the impression that it would be an intimate gathering of some fans and we'd have the opportunity to get up close and personal with the stars of born to run, but I was wrong. There were about 500 people there, if not more, but I was lucky enough to get a seat on the third row, center stage.

Then two bad things happened.

You can read the rest and see photos and videos from the event at my primary blog:http://barefootthundergod.com/
