I am a barefoot runner primarily. I walk also barefoot from time to time, but do not feel the need to do so everywhere. I wear shoes at the office, often switch into running gear to return home (barefoot). From time to time, I do take the metro or other transportation barefoot (after a hike, for example), but since the start of the pandemic, I am mostly driving my car. I do also use wooden sandals, style Berkemann, or very flat plastic flip-flops when I can. Not ideologically fixated on “enforcing” barefooting, but I like to do it when I can. And no, not really a problem with the locals. Last “exploit” was Spartan trail running barefoot in the awful tropical heat of HK.
