Turns out a new study suggests that heel striking repeatedly/consistantly while running barefoot might lead to injury!
Really! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-22528387
Lol. They've kinda got it right!
Except for that headline!!! I know I'll be bombarded now by family, friends and people in work, who've all, in the past, said "you're gonna injure yourself doing that". They'll be all over that headline and probably not read the article. Hope they actually read it!!
"However, the study does have limitations in that it employs small subject numbers of [unreported] cardiovascular fitness and training background, and also comprises of running at a single speed of 9km/h [5mph]."
So why even do the 'study' in the first place, and report on it, including a sensational headline, in the second?
You all wouldn't believe... I had a guy contact me a couple years or so ago wanting me to add an article to the home page that actually promotes barefoot heel striking. The back and forth and back and forth with that one! I still don't think he gets it.
