While I'm sure that some people need fancy shoes and orthotics, it seems that many of us have done quite well after ditching them. Reminds of one of my favorite movie scenes.
After society gets rid of unnecessary shoes and orthotics, perhaps we can redirect that money to be better spent on other things, such as growing new kidneys. Oh yes, and my feet are "fully functional" now!
