Spartan Race?

Anyone ever run one of these? What's your take? It looks similar to the warrior dash but the one here is AZ in March is an 8 mile run. I planning on running it since it is pretty inexpensive of a race. They gave away coupon codes at the expo and it is only $50 if you register before 2/1/11. Any of you arizonans going to

Any of you arizonans going to be running this? I am considering doing it barefoot, but may resort back to my vff's.

Its an 8 mile race with 18 obstacles!
