Persistant "Blister"

Hi Docs. Thanks so much for what you do for the BRS!

I've been running BF for about 3 1/2 years now. I seldom run with any footwear. Last year I ran a half marathon unshod and might try to run the NYC marathon unshod in November.

For the last few months I've had a problem with something on the bottom of my foot. I've attached a photo. It looks like a blister but it doesn't behave like one. The white skin never seems to separate from the underlying skin. There is no fluid inside. And it doesn't go away, peal, etc.

I know that this part of my foot in the past has taken the brunt of my strike. I'm working to correct my form, moving more onto the outside of my foot.

Anyway, does this look like a true blister or could something else be going on? Fungus? ??

I can run on it with very little discomfort. For instance, I ran my long run last weekend unshod which was 14 miles. This area where this patch is more sensitive than the rest of my foot but as I say it doesn't behave like a regular blister. By the next day my feet were fine.

What do you think? Thanks again for your help!!
