I had a nice run this morning. 67 minutes on a gravel towpath in my VFF Bikilas. I know I could have done it BF, but I'm training up for my Halloween 10 mile trail race in which I know I'll be running lightly shod. But to my question:

I was feeling so comfortable that I ran 3/4 of the time with my mouth closed. Is that good, bad or neutral? The "hunting trot" I've read about sounds kinda like that, but maybe I'm off. Opinions?

When I'm not pushing myself,

When I'm not pushing myself, and that's most of the time, I'm breathing through my nose.

Did you read NakedSoleNate's

Did you read NakedSoleNate's post on breathing efficiency? It's on the front page if you haven't. Anyway, I'd say it's a good thing. Nose breathing can be calming so the more you breathe that way, the calmer you get and the faster you'll be able to go without using your mouth. That's the theory I'm trying to put into practice anyway.
