Boulder and I did a 2.5 mile run Tuesday at 4:30 am. It was cloudy we did not see any stars. We did spot one skunk. I had to keep Boulder from wanting to go say hi to it. Really good to get out.
On Tuesday I did 4.1 miles in the evening with the headlamp. It was a good peaceful time- total darkness except my 1 bright spot of light and no wind, so the lake was just making rhythmic lapping sounds and the bay was like a sheet of glass. I also heard a hoot owl and some ducks out on the water.
Boulder and I did a 3.5 mile run Thursday. We did a 4 mile run today (Friday). I was scouting for Meteors (spotted a few). Just the start of sunrise today. Really great. Duckfeet, Love to hear about hoot owls and wildlife!
Couple of runs so far this week: 7km Tuesday & then another 7km on Thursday morning. Both nice runs (although a bit wet on the second one). Quite a few other runners out on Tuesday too to say hello to along the way...
5.2 miles this afternoon ( Sat ). It was a perfectly miserable weather day- 35 degrees with a steady 25mph wind and lake effect rain and snow.No animals or people were out today I took the opportunity to try out my winter footwear. They are called Skinners and are basically a heavy sock with small hard granules of rubber fused to the bottoms. I wore them with toe socks.I like them- they are about as minimal as you can get with good ground feel for a shoe.
We went out for a 5 mile run at 5:45 am. Early enough to catch some stars and late enough to spot farm animals and have a great sunrise.
