I had a conference the last couple of days in Lancaster, PA and got up early for a run this morning. I saw a likely looking park just south of the downtown, less than a mile from the very center and it was just about everything I'd look for in a running venue. I found it to have very low traffic roadways, some even with zero traffic, as they were closed to traffic. Best of all there are a number of equestrian paths with just the right mix of smooth dirt and interesting stuff like rocks and roots. I had on my Vibrams for an exploratory first run, but I'd gladly go BF on my next visit.

If you look for the park, you can find it just down Route 222 from the town center. I parked at Meadia Country Club's lot, which was safe and free. You can probably run to the park from the Marriott at conference center if you liked, but I didn't try today.

The coolest bit was the 3 eagles I saw fighting over a fish about 100 feet away as I ran by a stream there. Who'd have thought?!
