I should add: it is probably the smallest library in France (about 10 square meters surface), privately run (no pun intended) by volunteers like myself.
The only person who came in during my time of service didn't say anything about my feet - she didn't even have a look at them - but she did wish to have a chat with me: astonishingly not at all about my bare feet, but about books instead, which is, all things considered, not so strange a subject to discuss inside a library ...
