Hello everyone, I'm a new runner, not just to barefoot but new to running, anyway I have alway felt this is the right way to do it and I'm pretty much always barefoot when not in the officce.

Im planning on buying a pair of minimalist running shoes over the nex month and my short term goals are to run a 5k or 10k race in minimalist shoes this year and go complete barefoot the next year.

I have a lot to read on this forum in the meantime! See ya

Hola and Welcome, Alfonso!

there's lots of information in these pages, take some time to familiarize yourself with the forums and check out and join the Mexico Chapter:

Btw - I'd suggest reversing your strategy: stay barefoot, run barefoot, and after a year see if you're still interested in shoes at all!

Sorry, they don't trust me with THAT much power, lol. It might be possible for a site administrator to do. The two people to contact would be:

TJ http://thebarefootrunners.org/members/barefoot-tj.3/
Matt http://thebarefootrunners.org/members/mmoore5553.1/

Or, maybe the best first step would be to post the question to the "Site Issues & Suggestions" forum:

http://thebarefootrunners.org/forums/site-issues-suggestions.12/

And, yeah, you already have all the running equipment God intendend to give you! :D

Welcome to the site Alfonso, really glad to have a fellow mexican on board. We're really short on people in our chapter, or at least short on participation, as there's very little activity. But let's hope this starts to change.

I'm also responding to your post on the Mexico chapter, but as a quick comment to your transition plans I agree on what Willie says, you should probably start barefoot and only after getting your form right consider the possibility of minimalist shoes. That's kind of the general consensus around here.

Well, welcome again and see you at our chapter!
