Lantau peak is the second highest mountain of Hong Kong, culminating at 934 m (ok, peanuts for any normal mountaineer, but Hongkongers take what they find...).

My first hike there was shod and at night, and not quite a good experience as we got drenched by showers in the early morning. This time, i was hiking barefoot all the way and started off in a sea of... fog!

As I climbed, I emerged from the fog to the marvelous sight of a "sea of clouds". That in itself was enough of a reward for the exacting climb. Besides that, hiking barefoot left me with a much better memory of this hike than the first time, where I even slipped and fell on the way down (treacherous shoes!).
