Chabochi.es would like to give away a pair of genuine Tarahumara "Chabochi" sandals! http://www.chabochi.es/en/index The Tarahumara or Raramuri are one of the few Pre-Columbian Mexican Indians who have preserved their culture and way of looking at life. One of their more defining features is their passion for running and their extreme resistance. In the early 1990s, the Tarahumara began racing in the hardest U.S. ultramarathons. Wearing handcrafted sandals and blanket shorts, they surprised the ultra world by winning many of the races that they took part in. Following their amazing success, many European and American brands were launched to develop sandals inspired by the Tarahumaras', but none of these have been made by Raramuri artisans. Chabochi.es are a group of minimalist runners who are passionate about Tarahumara culture, and have managed to bring you authentic huaraches made by Tarahumara craftsmen from around the Copper Canyon in Mexico. Chabochi.es pay these artisans a fair price for their products, and contribute to preserve the ancestral culture and way of life of these wonderful people.
