I I need to wear pretty formal shoes at work and after being barefoot and using minimalist shoes at home now a couple of years I don't like old school shoes any more. So I'm going to get me 3 pairs of formal type leather minimalist shoes for work. I have already ordered a pair of vivobarefoot Ra-s in dark brown. I'm not the type that likes to wear the same shoes day in and day out.

What other minimalist shoes are you using for work?

    I'm looking at
    Vivobarefoot Jays

    Merrell Radius glove

    Are there any more?

Thanks, i have looked at the primal professionals but unfortunately I think they are ugly and to expensive. Also they have chosen a rubber sole, formed to look like a old school formal shoe. There is in my opinion two problems with that. First it's not possible to change the sole when it's finished because it has a special shape. That's a must on such an expensive shoe. Second, I'm a barefotter now, I don't want my shoes to look like I'm not.

People seem to keep missing the fact that our shoes--like most nice dress shoes, and unlike every option you listed--are resoleable. I'm starting to smack that word everywhere now.

Where did you even find that photo? I thought I replaced them all with new ones. Our shoes haven't looked like that for almost 2 years now. Here's a new one, and you can see more here http://theprimalprofessional.com/collections/all

Ah yes, and how about our first published review from a customer? http://well.bradrourke.com/2013/05/my-new-primal-dress-shoes/ Many more to come.

They are a bit duck feetish. So for looks maybe not the finest looking shoes. But feels good and gives plenty of room for the toes. A bit hot indoors. I really would like a pair of dress minimalist shoes with leather sole just for use indoors at work.

Review of the Frank Wright Stein.

They sure look alright. It's leather upper and leather insole. They are not wide enough to give your toes optimal space but not slimmer than any other dress shoe. But they are pretty flat I would guess there is 3-4 mm drop. And I have removed the small padding under the heal under the insole so now it must be down to 2 mm drop. So I would say a as good a dress minimalist shoe as it gets with that standard dress shoe toe shape.

Ok so maybee the Primal proffessional is an alternative, will look in to it after the summer vacation. In that case I will buy the one without the cap.

Hi Smogz, are you still wearing the Frank Wright Stein's? I've been looking for some minimal dress shoes and came across your post. I've not seen this mentioned anywhere before whilst searching so am interested to hear how you got on.
They're the most 'normal' looking minimal dress shoes I've come across.

It looks like Vivobarefoot has a new dress shoe, the Lisbon, 4mm. A bit pricey, though.

The Lisbon looks nice but still a little bulbous around the toe area for a dress shoe. Also the Porto boots. £250 for the Lisbon though!

I hear Altum may be releasing some new shoes soon too. https://www.facebook.com/altumco
These I like the look of.
