I am sure a senior BF runner could handle it fine, but I was very happy running in my VFF Bikilas. The mud and the water were easier for me than for the shods. As trail races go, this was pretty gentle, I hear. Fewer than 250 runners this year, but they only allow 300 or so to minimize trail wear and tear. The organizer was Pretzel City Sports, and they do a very good job on all their races, I'm told. The winner ran the course in 53 something, so it can't be that tough.
