I did my past 2 runs with my old scuba boots. I cannot see a brand on them and I can't remember where I bought them or how much I spent, they are so old.
Mine are a little higher on the ankle but the bottom looks like these:

They are extremely flexible and comfortable to run in. I like them much better than the VFF I tried at the store and they are nice and warm.
I dislike how sweaty my feet get, and after only two 3 miles runs on consecutive days I have a little red spot on the top/inside of my foot that would probably have evolved into a blister on a long run. This could be prevented by wearing socks.
I've been spoiled running barefoot for over 6 month, now I complain about even the most minimalist and comfortable shoes. But with the cold and the salt on the road I may stick to the scuba boots for a little while.
