Hey Mike, nice to meet you. Good to hear you story, although those days when the kids used to run barefoot on the streets are long gone (apart from the very poor that live on the outskirts, who don't have much choice). Hot asphalt (Hermosillo has a very high median temperature) and the dominant shoe-oriented mentality causes almost everyone to not even consider the idea of going barefoot. But at least I'm here and I'll do my best to spread the word, hehe.
