Hello everyone! So, it looks like I may be moving to Louisiana for work, probably living in Houma which approx. 1 hr from New Orleans. This is likely to be a temporary (1-3 yr) gig. I went down for a visit to "scope it out" last weekend, and maybe some folks here can help answer my questions:
1) Are there any barefoot/minimalist runners in the area?
2) How does anyone run in that heat? It felt like the steam room at a spa. I find the summer in Massachusetts to be uncomfortably hot most of the time.
3) How does anyone live in that heat? Does everyone just stay indoors with A/C during the summer, and then emerge in the fall?
4) Will I ever get used to the flatness? We're talking Great Plains, you-can-see-the-curvature-of-the-earth flatness. Will I lose any ability I once had to run up and down hills?
Thanks!
