I think you covered it all and gave me enough to make my decision definite, I was debating a DIY with the invisible shoe or the luna with a footbed and I'll skip the footbed, so just gonna go the invisible shoe route..

The footbed isn't anything

The footbed isn't anything special, unless you only plan on using your sandals for casual wear. Otherwise it will just break down and feel the same, if not worse, than a naked footbed. Although I think it does make the sandal look more "sandal-like".
