  1. Mileage Reporting Week 22 (May 29 - Jun 4)

Monday 4 miles Tuesday 4 miles Wednesday 2 miles Saturday (today) 6 miles. This is farthest run so far for me since going bf. Felt great! Had rained overnight beforehand and even sprinkled a little while running. Many puddles to run through. :) I'm just now 6 months into running bf.
  2. Mileage Reporting Week 21 (May 22 - 28)

They're doing great! So good I even ran 2 more miles the third day. Lol. Feeling it a little now but just a very minor soreness and tenderness. I'll wait till Saturday to do a long run. Hopefully 6 miles. My farthest so far BF is 5.
  3. Mileage Reporting Week 21 (May 22 - 28)

@Barefoot Dama - well I went ahead and took the plunge and did back to back runs (4 miles yesterday and another 4 miles today). Feet did great!
  4. Mileage Reporting Week 21 (May 22 - 28)

Thanks for the insight Tristan! I guess I find myself getting a little impatient sometimes. Hearing other people's experiences like yours really helps! I'm probably only around the 300 mile range so far this year but I can say, they have all been true barefoot.
  5. Mileage Reporting Week 21 (May 22 - 28)

Do you run full barefoot all these miles? I thought we were supposed to rest a day in between runs. Maybe you're much more of a veteran. I'm only a 6 month veteran.
  6. Mileage Reporting Week 19 (May 8-May 14)

3 mile run Tuesday and great 5 mile run yesterday, Saturday. Had a stomach virus last weekend but recovered fairly quick. I basically laid off running for one week due to it. But interestingly was a great break for my foot pads to fully recover. I felt like I could have kept running all day...
  7. Mileage Reporting Week 17 (Apr 24-Apr 30)

5 miles this morning on a new paved trail (I love finding new trails). I'm now 5 months into running barefoot and as it turns out my mileage increase seems to match...5 months/5 miles, etc. Also, without a conscious effort, I seem to run consistently about 1 minute/mile faster than when I was...
  8. Pain on ball of foot

No short big toe. And although I'm sure I could always use some additional core strength, the balance and all hasn't seemed to be a problem. It's just odd at the quick onset of this pain just in one foot when I've already logged over a hundred miles barefoot. Maybe it's just the added mileage...
  9. Pain on ball of foot

Ok. I've been running barefoot for 4 1/2 months now with a consistent 3 miles per outing. Tried to increase mileage to 4 miles a couple of times and my left foot now has a deep bruise on the ball of that foot. Almost like a stone bruise but I don't recall stepping on anything to cause it...
  10. Mileage Reporting Week 14 (Apr 3-Apr 9)

Ran 3 3's this week (total 9 miles). Was so busy Saturday I really didn't have time to run (that's what I was telling myself anyway) and started out thinking I would just do a quick 2 miles and get on with my day. The thing I have found though since running barefoot, once I start I want to...
  11. Mileage Reporting Week 13 (Mar 27-Apr 2)

2 good runs this week for me. 3 miles Tuesday. Found a new concrete path trail around town that I haven't run before. Beautiful trail, mild temperatures, felt great. 3 miles this morning. Had to get an early start due to days planned activities. Started in the dark at 5:30 am. Could...
  12. Mileage Reporting Week 10 (Mar 13-19)

Nice 4 mile run this morning. About 65° and overcast... Great running weather! Smooth concrete for about half the run and asphalt for the other half. Trying to toughen those soles up in preparation for our hot summers here in Texas.
  13. Feet toughening

Interesting thing happened... I've been running barefoot for about 3 months now decided to just do a barefoot walk on an off day between my normal 3 mile run outing days. Well, I walked about a mile and wound up with blisters on both heels! What the heck?! I thought my feet were passed that...
  14. Mileage Reporting Week 8 (Feb 20 -26)

Great 3 mile run today. Clear, sunny, and near 70 degrees. It rained recently, so I got to enjoy one of the fringe benefits of barefoot running...splashing through water puddles!
  15. Transitioning advice.

Great article. Thanks for posting. I'm just now 3 months into this barefoot running thing. I'm thoroughly enjoying it other than being a little frustrated with the slow rate of mileage increase. Right now I'm running a fairly consistent 3 miles per outing. I've tried to go farther a couple...
  16. Mileage Reporting Week 6 (Feb 6 - Feb 12)

Great 3 mile run today. 45°, overcast, recently rained earlier this morning. Love running through the occasional puddles of water.
  17. Mileage Reporting Week 6 (Feb 6 - Feb 12)

I only had about 15 or 20 minutes at home today to squeeze in a workout so I tried barefoot jump roping. Turned out to be a pretty good workout. I got up to 85 continuous reps. Lol.
  18. Mileage Reporting Week 6 (Feb 6 - Feb 12)

Did you guys run on that gravel you're standing on?
  19. Mileage Reporting Week 6 (Feb 6 - Feb 12)

3 mile run today. Have been laying off most of this week due to a minor injury to my left ankle. It was tender and swollen for a couple of days. Not sure even how or exactly when I injured it. Anyway the layoff must have helped because today's run felt great. No swelling afterwards. Run on...
  20. Mileage Reporting Week 6 (Feb 6 - Feb 12)

Do you run with all that jewelry on?
