A friend recently had a trip to Chihuahua, the land of the Tarahumara/Raramuri people, I told him to keep an eye on the local markets and on the street for some huaraches and to buy a pair for me if he came across them, Well he told me he was on a local market where a lot of Raramuri people sell things to tourist and he got me these, the sole is made from an old tire.

Do you think I can run in them? are they the real deal or maybe something just made for tourist shopping? Anyway I like them! :)

they look comfortable. i tried to buy some huaraches when i went to Tecate this summer. i couldn't fit in any and they didn't have any de tres puntos. i was going to have some made but the guy wasn't working and i was leaving the next day. next time.

they do look very built up for tourists. i use to always buy huaraches pero encerados. some of the most comfortable shoes i've ever worn.

By looking some Barefoot Ted videos on youtube I realized that altough they look similar at first sight, theirs are much more flexible, so definitely not the same huaraches the Raramuri use to run with :(

I think can run with them but they are not "minimalist" huaraches jajaja
