It's finally decided

As of yesterday, I will not be running in anything more substantial than a pair of VFFs again.

A little history. I have had weak ankles my entire life. I have had several very bad ankle sprains and have what looks like permanent swelling on both of my ankles (it is really just some scar tissue that is built up in there from the ligament damage over the years).

When I started running barefoot, my ankle pain went away almost instantly. As I continued my barefoot journey, my ankles have seemed to get stronger.

Then yesterday, the groud was wet due to some rain (odd that, I know), so I decided to run with shoes on. I straped on my Brooks Pure Flows (only 4mm drop), and started to run.

Holy Geez! What are these pillows I got strapped to the bottom of my feet?

after about 200 meters, my ankles started to hurt. After the first mile, I couldn't stand it anymore, and took the shoes off.

I finished the run barefoot and loved every wet minute of it!

So, "never again", I say.
