Ha ha TJ, yeah, the rolling pin is sort of the masochistic way to do it. But it really is normal for it to hurt at first. I'd say to start with once or twice a day, but once you really get loosened up you can probably just do it a couple of times a week. Lately I've been finding it helpful to roll before AND after my runs.
Willie--That's a GREAT idea! The PVC will really hold up and if you have to replace the foam, that's cheap.
