Quite funny: I met the mayor of Wetter, who had participated in the run himself, in the changing room. He asked me how bare feet perform on wet roads, and I had to tell him that they may even have some disadvantages compared to shoes under such conditions. Later when he conducted the victory ceremony (it was still raining heavily), he said to the audience: "You had to be very careful in this run not to slip and fall, but Martin told me that the situation was not better with bare feet".
I always enjoyed my barefoot rain runs. I never found the surfaces to be too slippery, and I've run in some serious storms too. Oh, how I miss running barefoot in the rain. sigh.
The new barefoot running season has started.
