http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLEpXibdERI This was taken just before doing my 11 mile run (new pr on distance and pace for long distance) I ended up averaging an11:56/min mile pace at an average heart rate of 163 (79%) and an average cadence of 162 which is an improvement for me (I had been running at 140 on average.) I ran yesterday on wet pavement for 4 miles and today was all wet pavement. Both days were in the upper 50's. Up until now my longest running day was 10 miles but that was a 5k in the morning and then another 7 miles in the afternoon. Prior to that I'd done 8 miles but split that up too (4 am/4 pm). This was my longest distance for a day and it was all in one run so I'm thrilled.. and it was all barefoot. I ran 26 miles barefoot this week plus another 4 miles in minimalist shoes. Next week my long run will be 13.1 to make sure my legs and brain know the distance won't kill me and then I'll taper back off up until the half marathon race on Oct 16th. I'm thrilled with my progress since starting barefoot July 1st. Amazing to think that I can run 11 miles on a rainy day on we asphalt without blisters when I couldn't do 2 miles without blisters just a couple of months ago! Video shows room for improvement on my form but my feet tell me I'm not doing to terribly bad. I'm pretty sure losing another 30 lbs would help too.
