I've been absent for a few weeks so thought I'd catch up. The last 3 weeks I've been on vacation, up to my folks in northern NY. Planned to do so much... without having to go to work for three weeks I was going to finally do a lot of running (beach and trail too!), biking, paddling, hiking... but unfortunately it rained almost the whole three weeks! I made the best of it though, getting out during the few hours of sunshine here and there and going on one trip to the mountains. Still a far cry from what I planned. Sucks that my running has been so limited due to my work schedule, and then when I finally have time it storms almost every day.
Last week I was able to cover 35mi on foot (10 running, 25 hiking) as well as 18mi on the bike and 5.3mi paddling.
Week before last 43.5mi on foot (29 running, 14.5 hiking) as well as 55mi on the bike.
Got lots of great pics from the beautiful places I visited, like from the Mountains, but will make a dedicated post on those separately. But here are some running pics...
Many miles of continuous beach can be run on state land. I had to turn back due to time but still was able to run over 8 miles of beach that day.
Storm clouds on the road I grew up on. A very common sight these past few weeks! They looked very ominous on my run that day so thought I'd at least grab a pic of them!
This week I'm back on nightshifts. And so far 0 miles of anything. Was wanting to run when I was up in the afternoon these past 2 days but stormed during both. Today we actually had 60+mph wind and tornado sirens going off! Of course as soon as I leave for work the sky turns brilliant blue and just gorgeous out. I'll get some flights of stairs in at least.
