On saturday I did a 30km trail in the hills of Nijmegen in the eastern area of the Netherlands.
It was really a beautiful track so i had a real good time!
The first 7k i did barefooted, but then their was gravel and stones on the tracks so I switched to Vibrams.
Man, I can't understand those messages I see here from time-to-time about running on gravel. I keep trying, but it's hard and it makes my heart-rate go up - i can't run relaxed when there's gravel.
How do I improve this?
Grow thicker skin?
Work on flexibility of my feet? When i see all those nice toe-exercises - they seem totally unfeasible for me, I can't move my toes independently or whatsoever. Would that help? I have a motivation problem to do those foot/toe exercises, I feel it doesn't directly contribute to my running.
Any advise?
