I had time, motivation, and decent weather this morning. Legs also felt real good, so I chugged out 10.5 miles. I ended up running the last 5 miles kinda fast and ended up running the whole distance in 1:35:16, about 9:06 pace overall. Scary.
I was using the Xeros today and was floating down a hill during the 7th mile when a car coming up behind me slowed down beside me. The driver rolled down her window, and we had a brief 30 second conversation or so about my unusual footwear. Got the almost always asked question, "Doesn't that hurt?" and I said no that it doesn't hurt. Forgot to add that if it hurts, you aren't going to do it! But she actually seemed open to the idea that a person could run like I was doing and enjoy it. She said she was a runner too and that she might have to look into the idea. I said, "You can always consider it."
That kind of took me out some of the zen state I had going at the time, but I quickly got it back and was just cranking out those last miles .
Also had my first week of more than 40 miles last week. I'm already up to 190 miles for the year. Last year I didn't reach that until sometime early in March.
