New personal distance record today.
Am pretty happy bout it, but am also pretty beat up.
Feet are killing me, the soles are fine, maybe a tiny bit sensitive, but the bones feel abused....my calves no longer get tight and sore, but I think there is still work to do with regard to building up the bone density in my feet.
This was my hardest run ever, mostly cause I felt like crap from the beginning...the first four miles I was achy, painy, grumpy, and had no energy, and I had stomach cramps...decided to soldier on and see what would happen...by mile 6 or so I was feeling fine, and kept building in strength till I got to about mile 17...the last two miles were mind over matter, with a lot of talking to myself to keep running.
12 miles were skin to ground, the remainder was with my Unshoes Sandals.
3 miles on trail the rest of various pavements.
I thought I was hydrating well, but I guess not, cause I weighed a crazy 9 pounds less than when I left.
Was above 80 degrees Fahrenheit for much of the run though.
That was brutal, but glad I got my very first 20 miler in!
One side note, on runs over 10K, I usually don't remember much of the run, cause the mind kinda disconnects from the body sorta, but I remember every step of this run, cause the whole thing was a struggle....but I love it, I may be a masochist.
