Monday afternoon
"Bottom3" ST workout.
Didn't get to run yesterday. I came down with some cooties, then didn't nap, betting that they weren't going to amount to much, and sure enough, today I'm just draggy. Maybe it was the wine and cheese last night that did them in.
Really didn't feel like working out today though, but of course, now I'm glad I did, and I got a good pump.
I've settled on which Nordic Curl I like to do, it's this one:
Seems a lot better than just falling forward slowly with your back straight, which seems to be the standard version. I don't have anyone to stare at my behind while I'm doing it however. Just a weighted barbell, squat pad, and my over-priced rubber slab, which is identical to the one in the video.
And I found another use for the over-priced rubber slab! I put it on top of two 25lb plates while doing my calf raises. That way I get greater extension and have to work a bit more to maintain balance.
More snow forecast for tonight. This can't be happening.
1.61 miles this morning. Bright and beautiful morning at 56degF (felt much warmer, not used to the sun). I started out in my huaraches but was having issues with them so at about .3 miles I took them off and just ran the remaining all barefoot. Feet are still good with no hotspots so that's good. I am still trying to be good and not increase too much, but let me tell you today was really tough with it being so beautiful out. My right achilles is still a bit tight so that is letting me know that I am still in the re-transitioning phase again and I need to be very cautious. I'm glad I'm learning to actually read my bodies cues a bit now. Can't wait till I can take off for a 5 mile run again with no worries about doing too much.
Oh, and I've been really contemplating changing my diet a little bit again. I already eat only raw fruits for breakfast, and I am contemplating making my lunch a raw fruits and veggies meal as well. It's amazing how good I feel from these types of foods, but I guess it's hard letting go of what I've eaten my whole life (tasty but unhealthy food). It's also expensive to eat like that and it's hard to justify that extra expense to my wife when we are already strapped for cash. I guess this is partially doing the fruitarian thing, but for dinners I will still eat meat and whatever else the family is eating. Last summer I ate this way (although not with very much variety in my foods for breakfast and lunch) and I felt the best I've ever felt.
Good news on the running front! I like that diet, as you know. All raw nuts, fruits, veggies, and some yoghurt during the day, then whatever everyone else is having at night, with reduced or no carbs (potatoes, rice). Works for me, and after a while things like chips will feel like a rock in your gut.
a lovely early morning workout.
Beautiful running country Ske!
He's very impress of how well I am responding to treatment I ask him when I could go for a run and he said that most likely in for weeks but maybe sooner if I continue to improve at this rate...so that's good news.
It's probably from all the earthing you've done.
