I have my second neuromuscular deep tissue massage tomorrow morning. I am hoping this therapy will help heal tissues that are inflammed in my legs, left wrist, left, arm and into my left chest area. I've been dealing with this nonsense for months, and I think some very strong antibiotics I took set it off. (I also have a sciatic nerve problem going on in my left leg.) I am trying to decrease my weight (hard to do when you are in constant pain from inflammation, PF, and Morton's Neuroma), and I have been avoiding sugar, caffeine, and anything with aspertame, as those things, including white flour and processed foods, will cause inflammation throughout the body. I'm convinced that until I can get control of the inflammation, my PF (that I received directly and indirectly from lovely shoes, glorious shoes!) will not get better. I, again, have high hopes for this new treatment. I will let you all know how it goes.

Ah, sugar, caffeine and

Ah, sugar, caffeine and aspartame. All difficult things to give up! I'm sure your body will let you know in one way or another that it's very grateful for your discipline!

As in headaches? I was surely expecting a few days of headache withdrawal , but I have only had one, tonight, and it's been 10 days since I stopped the yummy, oh so yummy colas.

I tried to quit drinking 7up

I tried to quit drinking 7up a few weeks ago. Thought I was doing good and a week and a half later I started having withdrawals like when I had quit smoking. Same withdrawal feelings as from nicotine. That makes me think soda is much more addictive than I had previously thought. I only allow myself one can of 7up a day, thats down quite a bit as I used to drink 2-3 liters or more everyday. I am going to be trying to quit again soon.

I agree, my husband, used to get really cranky and have little fits like people who quite smoking do if he didn't drink enough mountain dew. The funny thing is he basically quit smoking without a single problem.

Good luck feeling better TJ

I've been quit from smoking

I've been quit from smoking for over two years now, but it took me 3-4 years of trying to quit to actually get there. I hope I can kick soda before that point.

TJ, as our BRS mom, thanks

TJ, as our BRS mom, thanks for sharing. In a small way each of us understand how frustrated you must surely be. LIkely you are already getting good medical advice, do you know what your c reactive protein levels are?

I read an article online about whole body inflammation and your post above made me remember it: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dr-mark-hyman/is-your-body-burning-up-w_b_269717.html

I hope you get some relief soon.

best,

Sara

Thank you all for the nice

Thank you all for the nice sentiments.

Sara, thanks for the very informative article. I've already been doing some of those things for a while now. I've been taking Vitamin D, since I found out two years ago I was deficient in it. I have been taking "real" probiotics (the kind you have to keep in the fridge), and since the 10th I haven't had any caffeine, aspertame, and very, very little sugar. I may need to cut out gluten like the article says. I plan to see a rheumatologist very soon, so hopefully, he/she will do a full blood workup. I will specifically ask for the C-reactive protein test.

I'll let you all know what I find out about...me.

'No caffeine'  I don't think

'No caffeine' I don't think I could survive without my morning coffee! ;-)

I couldnt either Bob. I limit

I couldnt either Bob. I limit myself now a days as I have problems sleeping otherwise. 2 cups a day and thats it. No decaf either because that still has caffene and keeps me up at night. Found out hard way on that. Sucks to get old....

I got lucky and got in with a rheumatologist this Thursday. I would have had to wait until mid-February for the only one in my network within 20 miles. This one is also in network, but he's deep in Atlanta, so I have some traveling to do. Originally, I would have had to wait until late November, but someone canceled this morning. I got their appointment because I was a sweetie pie to the receptionist. It pays to be made of sugar!

I will.  Thanks!

I will. Thanks!

Hoping that the findings are

Hoping that the findings are negative........better to just "hurt" than to have a true auto-immune disorder.

Hurting with no cure does $uck, but remember, there are no cures for any positive findings at the specialist either.

Then again there's always the Barefoot Pub!

Following a run joint pain just kind of has a way of melting away while there.

If I find that I am taking

If I find that I am taking (or have taken) something that is causing this (I do have/have had prescriptions), then I would want to know what it is that is causing this. I read there is potential in the medication I take as well as withdrawing from it to cause tissue infllammation and rigid muscles.
