Hi there,
I am a 28-year old mother of a toddler. We live in the country of northern Germany and love to spend time outdoors barefoot.
I am not so much of a barefoot-runner, but I am getting there. I started with Vivobarefoot-shoes for everyday walking in 2012. In 2013 I started running with merrells, but as it happens: I always wanted too much and after several runs I had to take a longer break. So I haven't really gotten into it until now.
In my free time I am walking barefoot, that's no big deal in the country. Yet, I have tried several minimalistic Shoes. There have been 4 pairs Vivobarefoots for me and one for my son. I was quite disappointed with the durability and the incoherent degree of minimalism.
I have just bought Xeros DIY and I quite like them.
My Merrells fur running are not really minimalistic since the sole ist quite stiff. Furthermore Since I started running again a few weeks ago I felt my feet muscles did not like the sole. So I will try other shoes next time.
My favorite minimalistic shoes at the moment are 15€-Mares Equator swimming shoes. They are made of rubber and neoprene, so my feet tend to get a bit sweaty of its to warm. Anyway if it's that warm I don't need them anymore. The sole is very thin and flexible. The underground-sensitivity is better than with vivobarefoots. If the feet get wet, they don't get cold thanks to the neoprene.
I just ordered a pair of shoes from senmotics. It's a German brand which also produces the shoes here. Furthermore they offer to renew the soles for 70€ which I find very attractive in order to not waste material/leather.
