I'm nursing the remnants of a deep tissue blister from heat on Tuesday, but have decided to die-hard it. The weather will be cool - 8-12 deg C over the course of my run, and no rain - perfect.
My toes at least are ready - South African Flag Colors .
I managed a 2:00'35" , which I'm pretty happy with. No RaceTec results yet, so we'll see what the chip says in a few days, but that was the event clock at the finish. I was shooting to crack 2 hours, but there were 7000 entrants and I started quite far back in the pack, so I was at 27" at the 4km mark, a good few minutes down from pace just as a result of congestion. Being able to make that up WITH a hill climb of over 100m from km 15-18 was pretty awesome.
Well done, mate! Did you see any other BF runners? With 7,000 BFFs there should have been at least a few BFRs. (Sorry, I'm tired and my editorial inhibitions are at a low ebb.)
Nope, not a one, actually, and no minshoes either. But I started quite a few conversations in my wake and had a lot of folks interested this year. Last year was MUCH quieter ... not a lot of interest at all, so at least the consciousness is growing.
