I have only ran a mile here and a couple miles there in the last 8 days or so...did some easy sprints and would go into a short run about 10 times a day just across a parking lot etc...
Got the 50 miler on Saturday...short time now...am feeling a mix of resolve and excitement, with a little touch of fear mixed in.
The fear part is over the 14,600 ft of elevation change...nothing is very steep on this course, but I wish I had trained more elevation changes...also, after comfortably running at 10:00 mm pace leading up to it I have decided to take my chances and not use the early start...the only reason for this is that I want a sub 12 hour 50 miler because it qualifies me for some 100 milers that I want to try.
Still though...Missing the cutoff and being pulled from the course would suck, so we'll see.
