I've found that since running barefoot and living much more pain free I have a new found sense of hypervigilance and productivity, especially at work. In a lot of ways, I could say I feel more hyper throughout the day (hence my heavy posting on this lazy beautiful day). My sense of purpose and obligation to live correct has gone through the roof. I feel better and can do more on less sleep compared to the old me. It doesn't take much to get me up and motivated and things don't ever feel like a drag, at least not for long. If I start feeling like I'm starting to run out of gas it doesn't take long for that to pass and I get a 2nd, 3rd, or 4th wind. Have others experienced this? Is it a puppy love phase of running barefoot or is it a lasting benefit? I guess it's kind of like a perpetual runner's high. Maybe there is no pain to knock it to a short term feeling like there used to be.
