I've been wearing Xero TerraFlex trailrunning shoes when going barefoot is too slow or difficult and have found them to be flexible and comfortable and provide good protection and traction, and so far over the last 200 miles they've held up with no visible wear on the soles and only a tiny nick on the uppers. These miles have included granite talus fields in New Hampshire and California, sandy/rocky trails in the desert Southwest, and wet rocky trails in the Catskills.
