For at least the last 4 years, there have been eastern screech owls living in the maple tree outside my bedroom window. A few years we've been able to catch pictures of their young, and I get giddy every time. Two years ago, we got the distinct "pleasure" of watching two fledglings and the mom tear apart a mourning dove one morning.
This year, I've been able to see their baby owlet several times. There were two, but now only one remains. I feel a little like a grandma showing pictures of her grandbabies to anyone who will look. Here's the album of pictures so far this year: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2054576&id=1070984265&l=c62488499c
isn't he cute??
